Training Specialties
I like to combine cardio and strength training with my clients. This way we accomplish two things at once: large multi-joint movements are key, and paying attention to quality not quantity. Consistency and diet should be your main focus. |

Fitness Philosophy
My physical fitness philosophies have evolved from my training as an Epidemiologist and research with University of Maryland’s Center for Integrative Medicine. The bottom line is that we need and seek balance. My training sessions incorporate high intensity circuit weight training as a method of strength building that simultaneously serves as cardiovascular training. Rather than monotonously programmed weight lifting and hours on the treadmill, my clients observe rapid change in overall body structure and fat index through supervised circuit weight lifting sessions during which the trainee maintains a nearly constant high heart rate. Equal emphasis is placed on core stability and balance which translates into higher capacity for upper and lower body strength and stability. Additionally, I strongly encourage the incorporation of holistic methods of wellness. Clinical trials have demonstrated that attention to emotional and mental aspects of health result in an increase in physical fitness levels. To the comfort of the client, I encourage that we couple the high intensity strength training described above with an increased knowledge base and practice of holistic techniques for overall wellness to promote, a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness that aligns with each individuals’ needs. |
