Because you’re never too old to start getting fit, Merritt offers a wide range of programs for members 55 and up. In the gym or in the pool, our programs focus on improving strength, endurance, flexibility, and balance.

This low impact aerobic class is designed for the novice or more experienced.

RESULTS:

ARTHRITIS PLUS

This aquatics class provides a gentle, yet effective way to ease your joints, incorporating moves from the Arthritis Foundation. Low intensity.

This aquatics class incorporates moves from the Arthritis Foundation, along with some extra floating and toning, to ease your joints gently and effectively.

SILVER CORE FUSION

55 MINUTES

A gentler approach to building core strength, using the best of yoga, Pilates, and tai chi. Props like large and small balls, Bosu Balls, and straps are used to help support the back while allowing the core to engage.

RESULTS:

  • Core muscles improve functional strength for balance, mobility & injury prevention

An invigorating workout for older adults which includes exercises for muscular strength, flexibility, posture, balance, and non-impact aerobic conditioning.

SILVER YOGA

55 MINUTES

This class is designed for the older adult or the student who needs a bit of extra attention due to an injury or inflexibility. Postures will gently help to increase flexibility and build strength. Enjoy some rest and relaxation as part of every session.
