3 Primary Components Men Need to Lead a Healthy Lifestyle

There are a variety of avenues a man can take to lead a healthier way of life, but there are three primary components that men need to live a healthy lifestyle

Cardiovascular Exercise:  Performing aerobic exercise, or cardio, is an essential part of maintaining and enhancing a person’s fitness levels.  Robin Madell of Healthline suggests that men perform cardiovascular activity five times a week for 30 minutes per session to increase blood and oxygen flow to the body’s organs, improve mood and cognitive thinking and to reduce the risks of developing heart disease.  Aerobic exercises that prove beneficial for men include:  cycling, jogging, running, swimming and walking.

Nutrition:  Receiving adequate nutrition is a major part of mens fitness. To ensure proper nutrition, men should forgo trips to their local fast food joints and opt for wholesome, natural foods.  Foods that men should include into their daily diet are apples, bananas, blackberries, broccoli, cauliflower and tomatoes.  Another list of foods include bison, grass fed beef, black beans, olive oil, tuna and turkey breast.

Strength Training:  Strength training has been proven to increase bone density, improve muscle coordination and boosts the body’s metabolism.  Jerry Kennard of About Health, advises men to perform strength training exercises at a maximum of three times per week and include bicep curls, dead-lifts, leg extensions, leg presses and push-ups into their exercise routine.  To maximize fitness levels while strength training is to keep workouts simple and log all exercises, sets and reps into a journal.
