Find a Baltimore Health Club and Get Acro Yoga Fit with Good Friends

Getting up the courage to start a fitness routine is easier when you’re got a supportive person in your corner. This is especially the case when that person is someone you’ve grown to love and trust. Perhaps that’s the driving force behind America’s love affair with acro yoga. One half Circus Soleil and part 50 Shades of Gray with a dash of pre-Vedic Indian tradition, it’s one of the trendy, fun ways to get fit with friends. So much so that people are visiting Baltimore health clubs that offer classes for beginners.

For certain, there are many forms of yoga out there that people can try. This particular one traces its roots back to the late 1990s. As you’ve probably guessed by now, it relies heavily on principles commonly associated with gymnastics, acrobatics, massage, performance art and trust exercises. As such, it’s become quite popular with performers, dancers, couples and a wide range of other people interested in pushing the boundaries of flexibility.

In general, each Baltimore health club’s class is composed of a variety of poses and exercises that include the elements we mentioned earlier. Understandably, beginners’ classes start out with basic balancing maneuvers so attendees will have a chance to develop the fundamentals before moving on to the acrobatics. The fundamentals of massage and trust development are also typically an integral part of the beginners’ courses.

Of course some Baltimore health club’s acro yoga instructors opt to include other elements too. For instance, attendees may learn about the tenets of Eastern religion, nutrition, homeopathic medicine and metaphysics. There may be elements of strength training tossed into the mix as well. It all really depends on the 24 hour gym’s acro yoga instructors. To learn more, please contact us at Merritt Athletic Clubs and check out our yoga, health and fitness programs today.
