Body weight exercises allow you to work out even when you have no special equipment around. In fact, these 5 exercises only require one hand free so you can even do them in the bathroom while you are brushing your teeth.
Whether it is first thing in the morning or after dinner, these moves will help you stay in shape. Sure, you may have to switch arms but brushing your teeth with your nondominant hand is actually good for your brain and coordination.
Side bends: There is no such thing as spot reduction but you can firm up your obliques and enhance your posture. Raise one arm overhead and lower your body down on the opposite side. Imagine the weight of your other arm pulling you down slowly and smoothly. Repeat on each side.
March in place: Lift your knees high as you walk in place. You will burn up some calories, and get your heart pumping.
Squats: Strengthen your entire lower body with a set of squats. You can increase the intensity without dumbbells or barbells by moving slowly and increasing the repetitions or the pace. Just be sure to use good form.
Standing twists: Twists are energizing and good for your digestion. Swivel at the waist as far as you can in each direction. Hold the pose. Then, see if you can relax and stretch a little further.
Calf raises: High heels can be hard on your calves. Show them a little love with calf raises. Rise up on your toes and gently lower your weight down.
