#1 MAKE SMALL CHANGES:
We always want quick results and overwhelm ourselves with all the changes that we need to make. Start off making small changes. Make just 1 -2 small changes until they become habit then go to the next 1-2 small changes. This can be cutting back soda, coffee or eating out etc. Weight loss will be easier with smaller changes so you do not feel overwhelmed with everything you want to change at once.
#2 CHEAT MEALS:
This is where you do not have to give up your favorite foods. Notice, I said cheat meal not a cheat day. If you do the traditional diet where you exclude everything, you are more likely to return to old habits. Take 1 meal a week as a “Cheat” meal. Enjoy your favorite food but in moderation. This does not mean you eat enough for 5 people in one meal. You are not setting yourself back by 1 meal a week, remember the rest of the time you are eating whole foods.
#3 DIETS:
Diets do not work long term. Yes, they seem great for the short term quick weight loss but what happens when you go back to old eating habits? The weight quickly- returns. The main problem with a diet is you cannot maintain the restrictions diets require for the rest of your life. This is why it is important to commit to a lifestyle change. For you to lose the weight and maintain your success, you have to make choices you can live with the rest of your life.
