So I made it through my first week of Tribe Team Training and I have to say, once I get over the initial soreness I feel great. I am already down 3 pounds! This is HUGE for me because the scale has literally been stuck at the same weight for a year no matter what I do.
I forgot to mention I am type 1 diabetic and I always used the excuse that I couldn’t train like this because my sugar would drop and I would pass out. Not the case. There are professional athletes who are diabetic and do just fine. Why can’t I? “It was just an excuse”, I told myself. Not only have I lost a few pounds but my sugars have stabilized.
I’m doing exercises I have never heard of like “animal squats” and “beetles” and I love it. I used to go to the gym and do the same old boring exercises. I guess that is why I never saw results. This workout is anything but boring. It is a different workout every session. I am so excited to see what the next 4 weeks bring.
Of course Monday morning the last thing you want to do is jump out of bed and head right to a vigorous workout but I knew my team would be there so I had to show up. This whole accountability with a team is really pushing me. Just when I am ready to stop during the session, the coach or another team member pushes me not to stop.
Wednesday was all about team work. The entire session was with a partner. Talk about pushing yourself. Your partner had to keep doing the same exercise until you finished your reps. Of course you wanted to make it quick for your partner so they could stop and there was no way you were quitting. I loved it.
I met with my coach and got my measurements today. We both agreed these are the realistic goals for me to achieve in this season. My goals are to lose 10 pounds (I am already down 3) and lose 2 inches from my waist and hips. Of course this is with a healthy diet. I really think I can do it and this is the first time in a while that I felt like I could achieve my weight loss goals. Stay tuned.
