At Merritt Clubs, we believe there’s much more to getting fit than maxing out your bench press or reading magazines on a stationary bike. Our mission is to change the way people think about fitness. Besides building muscles, we work to build stronger communities, healthier families, and a culture where active lifestyles are the norm. Right away, you’ll notice a difference from other fitness clubs, and before long, a difference in yourself.

In my classes, I prioritize a mindful approach to movement, encouraging students to listen to their bodies and cultivate awareness. I believe in building a strong foundation by understanding the principles of each posture or movement, fostering comfort and confidence in their practice. While my style leans towards gentle and slow-paced yoga, I infuse moments of intensity to challenge and inspire growth. Ultimately, my goal is for students to enjoy their practice, have fun, and build consistency over time.

My name is Cerina – I am from Alberta, Canada – and I have loved teaching fitness since I was 18 years old. My inspiration comes from my own grandmother who taught me to never stop moving, thinking, and challenging yourself – and always striving to be the best version of yourself. I love anything that requires hanging upside down and flying. Back in Canada, I taught Aerial Hoop, Antigravity aerial yoga, and bungee fitness for many years! Each class is structured to build power progressively, helping riders push past their limits in a supportive environment. I focus on creating a space where every rider feels capable, energized, and motivated to give their personal best, whether they’re new to spin or seasoned athletes. My goal is to inspire confidence, resilience, and a genuine love for the ride.

My approach to fitness is to leave it all on the table so there’s nothing left to wish you gave. You can do anything for 30 seconds, 2 minutes, 10 minutes, an hour – just depends how how bad you want it. OR I love to teach to the beat of the music while envisioning the road ahead. I believe there’s a lot of power behind rhythms themselves and want to help cycle lovers like myself ride those sound waves through whatever roads life throws their way.

I was trained in the Sivananda lineage which came to the US from India over 50 years ago. My classes encourage deep relaxation by taking brief periods of rest between breathwork exercises and the same sequence of 8-12 asanas. With no music, you can hear your own breath and the natural rhythm of the group’s practice. At the end of your final relaxation, you will feel more at peace in your mind and body. It’s unlike most classes you’ve taken; I hope you will give it a shot!

Solid cycle classes start with a strong playlist. The music in my classes tells a story…a voyage through outer space, a celebration on Bourbon Street, or resilience through a challenging time. When the music allows a class to immerse themselves in the moment, it’s easy to give a full physical effort from start to finish.
